We have offered telephone appointment slots with GPs for quite a while (please ask a receptionist for more information if you think this is appropriate for you). We also offer specific times for our young people to discuss personal issues they are worried about with a GP - please ask a receptionist for more information regarding either of these services
Ordering repeat prescription change
Please be aware that we no longer accept telephone requests for ordering repeat prescriptions. The main reason for this is one of safety and to prevent the wrong medication being ordered or prescribed. Many drugs have long and complicated names and errors can be made when ordering or describing what your drugs look like. Our repeat prescription clerks, whilst are fully trained, they are not clinicians and can only request what is ordered or pronounced / spelt by the patient. We are very sorry to those who used this service, but hope you can appreciate why we have decided to stop this method of ordering and can find an alternative option which suits you. Changed from May 2016
Trinity Care is the name of our local in-hours and out of hours triage service. The service runs from Trinity Medical Centre, based in central Wakefield and covers patients registered at Crofton and Sharlston Medical Practice, Warrengate Medical Centre, Maybush Medical Centre, Trinity Medical Practice and Eastmoor Surgery.
From May 2016, Crofton and Sharlston Medical Practice joined Trinity Care to support local services including our Accident and Emergency units and also to ensure out of hours services for our patients, remain as local as possible for as much of the time we are currently able to cover.
From 6.30pm - 8pm on weekdays Monday to Friday and 9am - 3pm at weekends and on Bank Holidays, if you need to be seen urgently you should still phone our practice telephone number 01924 862621, but your call will automatically be directed to Trinity Care during these hours.
They will assess your symptoms and if necessary you will be able to see a GP at Trinity Medical Centre, . For calls outside of these hours will remain the same - for clinical advice, home visits that cannot wait until the surgery reopens, please call 111. For urgent assistance, please call 999.
Trinity Care is open 365 days a year including Christmas, Easter and New Year.
